Singing Chef Serves Up Good Tasty Fun
After six years of UK appearances on stage, television, food festivals and community events, the Singing Chef is back with
his tasty kitchen of magical and musical fun. American chef and entertainer, Ric Herrington, is cooking up his flavourful
blend of musical parody songs and magical illusions again after a year off.
Ric has performed across the UK alongside the likes of Ready Steady Cook chef’s Paul Rankin, Nick Nairn, Lesley Waters,
and Phil Vickery, Two Fat Ladies’ Clariisa Dickson-Wright, Big Breakfast’s Johnny Vaughn and Lisa Tarbuck and
other regional celebrities.
Trained professionally as a chef at the prestigious Heritage Hotel in Denver under Chef George Wister, he went on to chef
the kitchen operations of the popular Molly Brown Pasta Cafe and Mr. D’s. After moving to Britain in 1999, Ric introduced
a cooking sauce and marinade, called Buteful Sauce, made with a popular peaty-tasting malt whisky from Islay, which relieved
national distribution in 2002. .
The restaurant career came after ten years of performing, writing and recording music around America. Ric’s Singing
Chef first appeared on a cable television show in Phoenix, Arizona in the mid 80’s, as the visual comedy host in an
MTV format show based in a restaurant, Cafe Musique.
Professional magic has become a major part of the Chef’s appearances since 2001. British audiences have welcomed
the food themed magic routines. Ric has developed unique routines based on magical illusions learned form Paul Daniels, David
Blaine, and others. The Singing Chef has dazzled thousands from the Isle of Wight to the Shetlands, Cornwall to the Scottish
Highlands.
Ric said, " Magic is amazing. The look you see on people’s faces is incredible. It’s no different than preparing
a fine plate of food. That’s real magic to me, the look on a face of someone totally enjoying your food and the atmosphere.
